
Senior Underwriter

Brokerage's Commercial Real Estate Lending Group (CREL) is looking for a Senior Underwriter for our New York office. The candidate will be responsible for overseeing and management of the due diligence/underwriting process for commercial real estate debt transactions across the US, and will closely with originations, legal and credit professionals.
Responsibilities
Manage 6 – 8 deals in underwriting process for loans between $2 million - $50 million secured by commercial real estate nationwide;
Review credit approval memos and cashflows prepared by an outside diligence firms prior to submission to Credit Risk Management;
Review and analyze operating statements, review leases, and determine underwritten cashflow;
Ability to determine potential issues and to structure and mitigate concerns;
Assist in presentation of transaction at credit committee;
Assist with the securitization of loans by participating in B buyer calls, and by answering rating agency and investor questions;
Perform site inspections;
Order and review appraisals, engineering and environmental reports, as well as credit searches, lease reviews, tenant sales information and crime reports.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Real Estate, Hospitality, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field;
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in commercial real estate loan underwriting, acquisition due diligence, real estate valuation or asset management;
Solid knowledge of commercial real estate and lending fundamentals;
Proficient with MS Excel with experience using CoStar and Argus a plus;
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage due diligence process for 10+ transactions simultaneously;
Ability to multi-task and the ability to effectively prioritize and manage time/workload;
Attention to detail with the ability to work on multiple deals in a quick-paced environment.
Required Skills
Solid knowledge of commercial real estate and lending fundamentals;
Proficient with MS Excel with experience using CoStar and Argus a plus;
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage due diligence process for 10+ transactions simultaneously;
