The opportunity As the Oil, Gas, and Chemicals (OGC) sector undergoes dynamic changes driven by geopolitics, global economics, and shifting customer expectations, our OGC practice collaborates with leading companies in the industry to foster innovation and strategic improvement. As a Senior Analyst, you will play a crucial role in helping stakeholders navigate complexities and unlock value, enhancing EY's ambition within the Industrials and Energy sectors.
You will be responsible for developing high-level analyses and unique perspectives on significant challenges faced by our clients. As an expert on key OGC topics, you will lead initiatives focused on critical issues such as strategy formulation, capital allocation, and market dynamics to position EY effectively in the market and enhance commercial value.
Your key responsibilities
Deliver deep analytical insights into the OGC sector, executing strategic initiatives aligned with sector priorities.
Engage with senior OGC stakeholders, providing provocative perspectives on pressing issues, challenges, and opportunities.
Enhance EY's analytical capabilities by developing insights that go beyond public information, leveraging proprietary knowledge.
Focus on creating impactful external thought leadership through the EY Insights model.
Establish a credible internal brand as a subject matter expert within EY.
Ensure adherence to quality standards in deliverables by utilizing common Insights methodologies.
Collaborate with colleagues to monitor changes among key clients and competitors.
Foster connectivity within the OGC sector and across EY by sharing information and bringing together groups on common issues.
Proactively identify essential materials and insights across sectors.
Explore and create opportunities for cross-sector Point of View sharing.
Act as a role model within Insights, advocating for the use of methodologies and influencing positive change.
Adapt to work on various topics and support priorities in other areas as needed.
Lead a team of analysts, managing performance and providing coaching.
Skills and attributes for success
10+ years of experience in analysis and research specific to competitive landscapes in the oil, gas, and chemicals industry, including qualitative assessments of strategic objectives.
In-depth understanding of key sub-sectors and how global trends impact various types of companies within the OGC sector.
Insight into intersecting sectors like Aerospace, Defense, Technology, Financial Services, and Infrastructure.
Strong communication and networking skills to effectively convey insights to senior clients and engage with stakeholders.
Demonstrated project management expertise in delivering projects from ideation to activation.
A proven ability to enhance the skills of analytical teams and broaden their domain expertise.
