Job Description of Crew Chief
SAWTOOTH LAND SURVEYING, LLC is a Professional Surveying Firm established in 2009. We are currently seeking growth by adding an office in Pocatello, Idaho to our company.
The Crew Chief will support the project team by leading field aspects of a project, assisting Project Manager in maintaining project schedule, training and mentoring crew members as well as other team members, communicating with management, under minimal supervision. In this role, an employee will be expected to develop and demonstrate proficiency within the following responsibilities and competencies.
Responsibilities
Help establish and build a new office in Pocatello, ID
Build, lead, and oversee survey field crew
Perform survey activities such as leveling, traversing, topographic mapping, construction layout, as-built surveys, boundary surveys, profile and cross-section surveys
Understand project scope and convey requirements to Crew Members
Record field notes legibly and accurately while following SLS established Standard Operating Guidelines (SOP)
Communicate with client, regulatory agencies, and general public as needed (This communication should be directly controlled by the project manager)
Skills & Knowledge / Education and Experience
A minimum of 3 years of experience as a crew chief required
Maintain a current driver’s license in good standing
