The City of Ramsey is hiring a full-time City Engineer to oversee the planning, design, construction, inspection, and maintenance of public infrastructure. This role leads in-house and consultant-designed capital projects, manages the Engineering Department, and ensures compliance with City, State, and Federal regulations.
The City Engineer supports pavement and infrastructure management programs, reviews private development proposals, coordinates with Public Works and partner agencies, and serves as a technical advisor to City leadership, boards, and commissions. Work is primarily office-based with occasional field and site visits.
Responsibilities Ideal candidates have a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, five or more years of progressive experience, supervisory experience, and the ability to obtain Professional Engineer (PE) licensure in Minnesota. Strong leadership, communication, and project management skills are essential.
