Job Description:

Budget Title:Staff Associate (SL-4)

Responsibilities include:

Cultivate and manage collaborative relationships with industry, educational, nonprofit, and government partners at a local, state, and national level.

Manage the development of adult learner recruitment and retention plans, strategies, and written materials, such as marketing, admissions, and program leads.

Assist adult learners in identifying their educational and career needs, interests, and goals, and address barriers that may hinder their successful completion and subsequent employment.

Engage with former Binghamton University students who stopped out and provide pathways to reenroll and complete their bachelor's degree.

Identify grant and funding opportunities and assist with grant writing to support innovative pathways to employment in targeted high-demand career fields.

Monitor workforce engagement activities and outcomes and prepare reports on workforce engagement for stakeholders.

Assist in developing and executing activities for the Office of Workforce Development.

Respond to inquiries from and communicate with stakeholders with a consistently professional demeanor and in a timely manner.

Recommend solutions and/or procedures to resolve operational problems.

Communicate and enforce University and SUNY policies, regulations, procedures, and operations.

Professionally and ethically represent the Office of Workforce Development across campus and the University at events, conferences, and meetings.

Requirements:

A minimum of five (5) years of experience with building industry partnerships and/or community outreach and engagement, or a similar role

Effective communication and interpersonal skills

Preferred:

Master's Degree

Minimum of five (5) years of experience working with adult learners, including those older than 24 years old, married or have children, working adults, first-generation college students, previously attended college but did not finish their degree, and/or did not receive a standard high school diploma.
