Position
Mechanical Designer – HVAC (Contract with DOE, Y‑12 National Security Complex, Oak Ridge, TN & Pantex Plant, Amarillo, TX)

Responsibilities
Five or more years of progressive and relevant experience in HVAC Design and 3D Modeling.
Technical knowledge of related engineering systems, applications of engineering and construction methods and materials, and engineering application of computers.
Ability to plan, self‑perform tasks and multi‑task on multiple projects.
Ability to present information clearly and effectively through the oral and written word and utilize automated workflow systems.
Must be able to coordinate verification and validation of documents with technical and operations personnel prior to release for approval and implementation.
Ability to develop and maintain historical information.
Ability to prepare, interpret, maintain, and incorporate requirements of technical drawings and operating documents.
Qualifications
Associate degree in a related discipline (HVAC or Fire Protection) with two or more years of progressive and relevant experience in HVAC and/or Fire Sprinkler System Design and 6–10 years total experience.
Ability to obtain/maintain a DOE Q clearance.
Pre‑employment drug screen required for external applicants.
Medical examination may be required for the position.
Position may require obtaining and maintaining a DOE clearance and participation in a Workplace Substance Abuse (WSAP) testing program, including ongoing random drug testing.
Pre‑Employment Requirements Applicants must be U.S. citizens, at least 18 years old, and able to meet pre‑employment requirements including any required physicals, drug screen, and/or background investigation to satisfy clearance requirements from the Department of Energy.
