
Human Resources Business Partner I

We are actively searching for an Assistant HR Manager to join our corporate HR team at the company’s Business Service Center (BSC) located in the Buckhead area of Atlanta, GA. Successful candidates will have an HR Generalist background and will support the Sr. HR Director in establishing and executing HR programs and initiatives to drive business results, increase engagement and enhance LG Chem as a great place to work. This position partners closely with senior leaders and all HR team members to provide both strategic and tactical support. The incoming will act as an HRBP to Expats transitioning to/from Korea to LG Chem businesses in the Americas (US, Mexico, Latin America), will be the HRIS Administrator (SuccessFactors), lead the annual goal setting and the performance management process, launch the HPI Process and perform other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities HRBP to Expats
Lead onboarding/offboarding processes for all expats including orientation and managing expense related tasks; update related documentation using PPT and Adobe tools.
Expat Tax Reporting - Coordinate with external accounting firms for annual expat tax filings, additional submissions, and refund tracking through ERP and in-house system
Manage expat benefit adjustments by coordinating with HQ and performing advanced Excel‑based calculations
Expat Settlement Loan Support - Process settlement loan applications and maintain internal benefit management system records
Conduct yearly reviews of expat benefit programs to confirm compliance with HQ policies and regional needs.
SuccessFactors Administrator
Maintain accuracy of data by performing audits and make necessary corrections
Ensure integrity of employee data
Ensure organization charts for all LG Chem business units are accurate
Annual Goal Setting and Performance Management
Lead annual goal setting process and manage mid-year and end-of-year process for all Americas employees using SuccessFactors
Initiate goal setting and performance templates in Success Factors as needed
Roll out communication and launch of each process to Managers and Employees setting expectations, completion and deadline
Prepare and rollout training on each process
Track and ensure completion of each by deadline
Manage Calibration of performance ratings according to T/O from HQ
Track status and maintain reports when requested
Create and update goal‑setting and evaluation manuals; communicate revisions to all relevant stakeholders
Review all evaluation forms to ensure compliance with feedback protocols and corporate evaluation standards
Serve as the Human Resources Business Partner for five LG Chem Petrochemical Subsidiaries, coordinating HR matters and ensuring consistent alignment with HQ policies.
Introduce new HR tools, systems, and policies to local HR teams; provide training, clarification, and rollout support to ensure proper adoption.
Ensure that HQ’s mission, standards, and directives are executed correctly in the Americas region without operational gaps or misinterpretation.
Cross-Regional Communication Management- Facilitate smooth two‑way communication between HQ and Americas HR teams by coordinating updates, clarifying expectations, and resolving issues promptly
Serve as HRBP for the petrochemicals business, promotions, salary adjustments, and benefit reviews; coordinate closely with HQ Petrochemicals company
Manage headcounts efficiently by updating and sharing organization chart every month for each organization in petrochemicals including South American entities
Acts as a strategic liaison between the Petrochemicals Business Unit, Global HR at HQ, and the Americas Business Service Center to ensure seamless alignment of business needs and corporate direction- Need communication skills to deliver the Petrochemical BU’s HR needs and challenges to Global HR and ensure HQ initiatives are understood and executed accurately at the regional level in the Americas.
Manage billing allocation processes from the company to HQ, ensuring accurate cost distribution
Delegation of Authority Renewal
Review and update HR authority lines annually in alignment with HQ policies and budget‑related requirements
Administer LG Way and Leadership surveys across Americas sites, including data mapping and Excel‑based analysis.
HQ Medical Expense Processing
Ensure timely submission and review of Expatriate’s medical expenses; support expats by navigating the Korean medical system.
Visa and Immigration Support
Manage visa processes for business travelers and expatriates, ensuring full compliance with immigration requirements
LMS Module Administration
Set up and maintain training modules within the LMS module in SuccessFactors, ensuring accurate course configuration
Team Leader Allowance Renewal
Renew expat team leader allowances twice a year based on staffing changes and policy updates
Business Travel Documentation
Issue invitation letters and employment verification letters for HQ business travelers to support risk mitigation and seamless business operations
SuccessFactors Troubleshooting & Training
Provide system troubleshooting and HR system training (evaluation, payroll, goal setting, etc.) for HR managers across multiple sites (Evansville, Ohio, Tennessee, Boston, Mexico, Colombia, Brazil)
Handle Vendor Registration & Payment process for HR
Enter new vendor registrations required for approval in in-house vendor/customer data management system
Make payments using ERP system with correct vendor information linked with the in-house vendor management system called MDM and Smart BPM
Other responsibilities as assigned Experience Requirements / Competencies
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or relevant experience
2+ years' US Corporate HR experience as an HRBP or HR Generalist working within a matrixed environment highly preferred
Expert knowledge with SuccessFactors required . Must have hands-on experience teaching/training users.
Strong organizational, critical thinking and communications skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software (SAP_ERP), ADP.
Adaptability and agility in dealing with diverse cultures
Bilingual English/Korean is highly preferred
