Responsibilities The Visual Merchandiser will provide operational management to fulfill Fleet Feet Nashville’s purchasing strategy focused on the brick‑and‑mortar experience across all categories – footwear, apparel, and accessories. This position is responsible for product presentation, storytelling and how the customer engages with the product in the stores and at Expo events. The role is also responsible for product maintenance, promotional product content management, visual merchandising training and education, and planogram creation when necessary. This is a part‑time, 15‑20 hour/week, non‑exempt position and is open to current employees of Fleet Feet Nashville. Create storytelling opportunities through product merchandising, brand and vendor signage, mannequin use, etc. Collaborate with Buying Team and Marketing Director on the product promotion calendar and execute product expression in‑store to ensure key buys are getting their moment. Explore merchandising strategies to support product sell‑through goals set by Buying Team. Execute proper promotion and markdown strategy in collaboration with the Buying Team. Partner with Store Managers to better understand sales floor capacity, clearance area capacity, available fixtures, traffic patterns, and overall sales volume to support each store’s business more effectively. Actively participate with Store Managers and Employees by setting daily merchandising tasks, sharing merchandising updates and executing visual merchandise training & education for retail employees. Contribute to product knowledge & expertise by facilitating staff engagement with key products during store visits. Update Merchandising Guide for team to use as a reference. Ensure store‑level responsibilities are executed (products priced and back‑stock product makes it’s way onto the sales floor). Partner with vendors on in‑store point of purchase (POP) programs and displays. Plan, execute and create exit strategy/timeline of POP. Partner with Marketing Director on store window displays. Collaborate with Marketing Director and Graphic Designer to maintain in‑store signage including everyday messaging as well as promotional/sale signage. Manage inventory of retail fixtures/displays including but not limited to Opto/Prager fixtures, floor racks, tables, hangers, mannequins, pricing guns, tape, etc. When necessary, create planograms with Buyers to help execute consistent merchandising and storytelling across all Fleet Feet Nashville doors. Current employees of Fleet Feet Nashville may be eligible for full‑time employment (35‑40 hours per week) in this role by providing approximately 20 Outfitting hours per week. Full‑time hours would require 4 weekday shifts, including 2.5 Visual Merchandising shifts and 1.5 Outfitting shifts, and one full regular weekend Outfitting shift (7+ hours) per week. Full‑time benefits apply for full‑time employment. Requires moving around for periods of 2‑4 hours without a rest break, task sequencing, and use of point‑of‑sale computers. Job requires moderate to heavy (10‑30+lb) lifting, bending and reaching overhead. Includes substantial communication with customers, work in a retail setting with product displays, stockroom with inventory, use of cutting devices to break down boxes, and potentially slippery surfaces.
