Oncology Services Coordinator
Responsible for providing the scheduling, registering, pre-registering, obtaining authorization/pre-certs, and coordinating charge entry processing for oncology services. Answers telephone, receives payments and issues receipts, prepares patient charts for provider clinical visits provides health information management and routine clerical support. This position will be responsible for answering inquiries from patients and insurance companies in a professional manner. Educational and/or Professional Qualifications: High school diploma or GED preferred. Previous experience: A minimum of 6 months experience working in a medical business office, clinic or hospital setting is required. Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, managed care payment and billing guidelines. Ability to operate a computer and various computer software programs. Other special training/skills: Possess excellent communication skills, oral and written. Possess a preference for dealing with people who are ill and need help. Possess the tact to deal effectively with patients, doctors, other employees and insurance companies. Possess the sense of discipline to work in accordance with accepted business standards.
