Director, Enterprise Data Architecture & Platforms (Utilities)

JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE The Director of Enterprise Data & Platforms will serve as a technical leader and strategic partner to the CIO, responsible for defining and executing the enterprise data strategy across the organization. This role requires a hands-on leader with deep expertise in Oracle Energy & Water platforms, Oracle data integration/analytics platforms (FAIDP & UAIDP), and Microsoft Fabric, who can architect scalable, enterprise-grade data solutions while leading high-performing data teams. The ideal candidate brings a strong background in the utilities industry and has built complex, enterprise data models and platforms leveraging data from Oracle CCS/CC&B, OFS, WACS, ERP, and PPM systems. This leader will drive the transformation to a modern lakehouse architecture in Microsoft Fabric, enabling enterprise analytics, operational intelligence, and AI readiness. ACCOUNTABILITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Serve as the enterprise data architecture leader reporting directly to the CIO. Define and execute the enterprise data strategy, roadmap, and modernization initiatives. Act as the primary technical authority on data architecture, platforms, and integration across the organization. Partner with executive leadership to align data strategy with business, regulatory, and operational goals. Lead the design and evolution of a modern data platform using Microsoft Fabric (Lakehouse, Warehouse, OneLake). Establish enterprise architecture standards, patterns, and governance frameworks. Drive adoption of scalable, reusable data products and domain-driven architecture. Provide deep technical leadership in designing enterprise data models and dimensional schemas. Architect integrated data models across:

Oracle Customer Care & Billing (CCS / CC&B) Oracle Field Service (OFS) Oracle Work and Asset Cloud Service (WACS) ERP systems (including Oracle Fusion ERP) Oracle Project Portfolio Management (PPM)

Leverage and integrate data from:

FAIDP (Fusion Analytics / Integration Data Platform) UAIDP (Utilities Analytics / Integration Data Platform)

Ensure delivery of high-quality, conformed data models supporting enterprise analytics and reporting. Own the architecture and implementation of Microsoft Fabric capabilities, including:

Lakehouse and Warehouse design Data Factory pipelines and orchestration OneLake data strategy Power BI semantic layer architecture

Lead the transition to modern lakehouse and medallion architectures (Bronze/Silver/Gold). Ensure platform scalability, performance, security, and cost optimization. Oversee design of enterprise data pipelines, ingestion frameworks, and Chage Data Capture (CDC) strategies. Ensure seamless integration of Oracle operational systems and Oracle data platforms (FAIDP/UAIDP) with Microsoft Fabric. Guide engineering teams on best practices for data transformation, storage, and access. Establish enterprise-wide data governance, metadata management, and data quality frameworks. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements common in utility environments. Promote a culture of trusted, governed, and high-quality data. Build and lead a high-performing data architecture and engineering team. Mentor architects and engineers, setting technical standards and career development paths. Lead cross-functional collaboration across IT, operations, finance, and analytics teams. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Minimum education required of the position Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, or a related field; equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree Minimum experience required of the position 10+ years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, or enterprise data leadership 5+ years in a leadership role (Manager, Sr. Manager, or Director level) Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities preferred of the position Deep hands-on experience with Oracle Energy & Water platforms, including:

CCS / CC&B OFS WACS Fusion ERP

Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with:

FAIDP (Fusion Analytics / Integration Data Platform) UAIDP (Utilities Analytics / Integration Data Platform)

Proven experience integrating Oracle Fusion ERP, utilities systems, ERP, and PPM data into enterprise data platforms Strong expertise in enterprise data modeling and dimensional design (star schemas, conformed dimensions) Extensive hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric, including:

Lakehouse Warehouse Data Factory OneLake Power BI semantic models

Strong SQL, data transformation, and data architecture design skills Demonstrated experience leading enterprise-scale data platform implementations Preferred :

Experience within electric, gas, or water utilities Experience with data governance tools and frameworks Familiarity with AI/ML data enablement and advanced analytics platforms

Any certificates, licenses, etc. required for the position Preferred: Microsoft or Azure data certifications Physical Requirements Able to operate a personal computer, either desktop or laptop. Able to sit for extended periods of time. Able to operate a copy machine, fax machine, calculator, telephone and other miscellaneous office equipment. Able to exert up to 10 Lbs. of force occasionally, and /or a minimal amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push or otherwise move objects.
