Ackerman SFC Summer Camp Director Summer Camps run Monday-Friday on various days, at various times between 8:00am-4:00pm. If you enjoy working with kids that encourages community, athletics, and fun, then the Ackerman SFC Summer Camp Director position is for you! As a Summer Camp Director at Ackerman Sports and Fitness Center, you will engage with youth by leading and organizing games, sports, and activities to ensure all participants have a blast! Encourage a competitive spirit while exhibiting cooperation and good sportsmanship while building confidence and leadership skills. Responsibilities

Develops in conjunction with the Assistant Facility Manager at Ackerman Sports and Fitness Center, camp policies and procedures. Develops camp communication, calendar and procedures. Recruits, trains, supervises and develops camp staff. Plans and conducts camp staff training at the beginning of camp and facilitate ongoing meetings and necessary training to keep staff informed and certifications current. Oversees the daily operation of the summer day camp and manage the overall health, safety, welfare and enjoyment of the campers. Schedule, manage, and supervise all camp staff. Coordinates camp activities and delegates responsibilities to staff. Monitors camp staff time pro. Performs evaluations of camp staff at the end of summer. Determines appropriate action of campers and staff for behavioral issues. Perform other duties as assigned by the Assistant Facility Manager at Ackerman Sports and Fitness Center. Education, Experience, and Training

The ideal candidate will be outgoing, reliable, self-motivated, and creative with a strong interest in working with children. Prior experience working with children of multiple ages is preferred. Minimum age is 18 with previous camp experience is a plus. Ability to effectively communicate with participants, their parents, and the public. Ability to run, play games/sports and engage in physical activities that may require quick movements and agility. Able to maintain attention, high level of energy or excitement for extended periods of time. Capable of lifting and carrying up to 25-50 pounds, such as equipment, supplies, or backpacks. Strong voice and listening skills with the ability to hear, understand, and distinguish speech and other sounds. Must have adequate sight to observe participants and identify potential hazards. Ability to maintain discretion regarding confidential matters and/or information. Proficient in MS Outlook or other email system for communication with the capacity to learn other systems/applications. CPR / First Aid certified, or willing to become certified within 30 days of hire. (We will provide this training.) Reliable transportation to and from work is required. Benefits Include
