
RECREATION LEADER III (Hourly)

About The Position
Organizes, coordinates, and conducts the work of playground and recreation centers, competitive sports, and arts and crafts; assists in planning, organizing, and directing recreation centers and summer playgrounds; prepares publicity; maintains necessary records of activities; conducts special adult programs at recreation centers; investigates special recreation problems and makes recommendations for actions; performs other duties as required. Ideal Candidate & Qualifications
Training and experience: Any combination equivalent to training and experience that could likely provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities will be qualifying. A typical way to obtain the required knowledge, skills, and abilities would be: enrollment in an accredited junior college, college, or university preferred; two (2) years of experience in the leading of organized recreation activities. Knowledge and skills in: The principles and techniques of planning group recreational activities; sports, crafts, games, and group activities; good physical condition. Ability to: Maintain discipline among children engaged in play; prepare and deliver talks; establish and maintain effective relations with the public; work cooperatively with others. Licenses, certifications, or special requirements: Possession of a valid California Class C Driver's License is required at the time of appointment.
