Sr. Proposal Manager
We are seeking a Sr. Proposal Manager who has experience dealing with Federal RFPs in Tysons, VA. Responsibilities include cradle to grave proposal management responsibilities, reviews of requests for proposals/request for information (RFPs/RFIs), supporting the bid/no bid process, identifying and tracking proposal risks, leading proposal kickoff meetings, developing proposal plans, schedules, outlines, and compliance matrices, preparing questions for submission to the client, assembling and reviewing the efforts of internal and external proposal contributors, coaching proposal team on persuasive writing and proposal best practices, managing software development proposals in response to complex Federal RFPs with total contract value of $50M or more, writing/editing non-technical sections such as executive summaries, staffing, management, past performance, and resumes, reviewing proposal draft and final versions for compliance and responsiveness to RFP, thoroughness, accuracy, staffing, financial considerations, quality, and effective design and layout, performing editing and desktop publishing as needed to prepare proposal for submission, editing graphics in PowerPoint or Adobe Illustrator as needed, in addition to work on specific proposals, creating corporate concepts and boilerplate content for use in future proposals, conducting meetings to collect lessons learned and updates processes and templates accordingly, supervising junior team members, helping to maintain a proposal library, and providing proposal training to internal proposal contributors. Required experience includes a bachelor's degree in Communications, English or Marketing or Computer Science (or similar), Association of Proposal Management Professionals Foundation (APMP) certification (minimum), 7+ years of experience performing end-to-end, complex Federal RFP proposal management and development for similar sized company delivering similar services, strong organizational and time management skills, strong interpersonal and proactive communication skills, ability to take direction and great attention to detail, strong written English language skills, experience with Microsoft Office suite, with expertise in Word, including styles and embedded objects, excellent formatting, writing and editing skills, ability to quickly compile and present information from disparate sources in pressure situations, experience creating and editing proposal graphics, experience with Microsoft SharePoint and Adobe Professional. There will be a short exercise as part of the interview process. Preferred experience includes experience with Adobe Illustrator and proposal automation software (RFPIO) and Certified Scrum Manager (or similar agile training).
