Associate Director, Business Transformation

Our business transformation practice is growing rapidly, and we are seeking an experienced associate director to lead finance transformation initiatives for private equitybacked portfolio companies. Working closely with our private equity practice, you will serve as a trusted advisor to portfolio company CFOs and finance leaders, helping modernize the office of the CFO and drive scalable, value-focused transformation. In this role, you will lead complex, end-to-end finance transformation engagements, balancing hands-on delivery with team leadership, client relationship management, and business development. You will help portfolio companies strengthen finance capabilities across people, process, data, and technology in support of growth and operational excellence. What you'll do: Lead finance and business transformation engagements from diagnostic through execution across people, process, technology, and data Build actionable, prioritized roadmaps aligned to sponsor value creation plans Design scalable operating models that support growth, margin expansion, and transaction readiness Drive improvements across core finance processes (record-to-report, FP&A, order-to-cash, procure-to-pay, MDM) Engage directly with CFOs, controllers, operating partners, portfolio support teams, and deal teams Translate sponsor expectations into executable initiatives with clear accountability and measurable impact Navigate competing priorities and high-pressure environments with confidence and clarity Operate comfortably in incomplete or evolving situations Quickly assess current state, identify root causes, and mobilize teams toward solutions while balancing strategic thinking with hands-on execution Leverage data, automation, modern finance systems, and firm-approved AI solutions to improve insights and efficiency Transition solutions to portfolio company ownership and enable long-term self-sufficiency Contribute to business development, thought leadership, and the growth of the business transformation practice Coach, mentor, and develop high-performing teams while supporting talent acquisition What you'll bring: 10+ years of client-facing consulting or advisory experience Experience delivering transformation initiatives within the office of the CFO Exposure to private equity sponsors and/or PE-backed portfolio companies Knowledge of core finance processes (R2R, P2P, O2C, FP&A, close) Experience in high-growth, transaction-oriented, or fast-paced environments Strong analytical and Excel modeling capabilities Experience with finance systems (e.g., NetSuite, Intacct, Dynamics, Adaptive, Coupa, OneStream, Blackline, Tableau, Alteryx, SQL, etc.) Comfort working in ambiguous situations with competing priorities
