Key Responsibilities
Administer and inject radiopharmaceuticals, assay activity levels, calculate volumes and concentrations, and maintain accurate dose tracking records.
Perform laboratory procedures including preparation and quality control of radiopharmaceutical kits and unit doses.
Position patients accurately on imaging equipment per established protocols, monitor patient conditions during procedures, and apply appropriate acquisition parameters.
Establish intravenous (IV) access using aseptic technique and ensure proper site selection.
Operate Nuclear Medicine devices such as gamma cameras (planar and SPECT), PET scanners, radiation detectors, and dose calibrators.
Conduct quality control checks on all instrumentation to maintain optimal performance.
Follow Radiation Safety practices adhering to ALARA principles, including time, distance, and shielding, with strict compliance to NRC guidelines for handling, administration, and transportation of radioactive materials.
Desired Qualifications
Proven experience with Nuclear Medicine imaging technology and instrumentation.
Strong knowledge of radiation safety standards, regulatory requirements, and dosimetry.
Skilled in radiopharmacy practices including preparation and administration of diagnostic and therapeutic radiopharmaceuticals.
