Base pay range $200,000.00/yr - $220,000.00/yr
Director of Engineering - Substation & Transmission Line Join a fast-growing infrastructure firm at the forefront of modernizing North America's electrical grid. As Director of Engineering, you will lead the strategic development of our engineering division, shaping the design standards and execution of complex power delivery projects. Key Responsibilities
Lead the design, specification, and technical review of engineering documents for substations, transmission and distribution lines, and energy storage facilities.
Develop and implement engineering best practices and standardized processes aligned with industry codes and organizational goals.
Ensure compliance with all applicable safety regulations, environmental standards, and utility requirements.
Collaborate cross-functionally with project management, estimating, procurement, and business development teams to align engineering efforts with strategic objectives.
Provide technical oversight, risk assessment, and resolution strategies across all phases of project execution.
Forecast engineering resource needs and manage departmental operations to ensure timely and cost-effective project delivery.
Contribute to strategic planning and annual business development initiatives.
Represent the company in technical forums, industry associations, and regulatory discussions.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline (Master's preferred).
Minimum 12 years of engineering experience, with at least 8 years focused on power delivery systems.
Expertise in substation design, transmission and distribution systems, and utility-scale energy infrastructure.
Proven ability to balance technical rigor, cost efficiency, and schedule demands.
Experience working directly with utilities and regulatory bodies.
Familiarity with renewable energy integration and energy storage technologies is a plus.
Professional Engineer (PE) license strongly preferred.
