Totum Market and Café is a new premium neighborhood grocery and café opening in downtown Tampa. The store combines a curated grocery assortment with a design-forward café experience and will serve as the flagship location for future expansion.
We are currently hiring a Founding Store Director to lead pre-opening execution and long-term store operations.
This role is responsible for translating merchandising strategy into operational readiness and establishing the systems, culture, and leadership structure that will support the store through launch and stabilization.
Role Overview The Store Director will partner directly with ownership and the Buyer Consultant to support distributor coordination, department setup, staffing strategy, and stock-the-store execution ahead of opening.
Following launch, the Store Director will own store-level performance including labor planning, inventory discipline, merchandising execution, and overall profit and loss results.
The position also oversees coordination between grocery operations, café service, and direct store delivery vendor programs.
Key Responsibilities
Lead store readiness from pre-opening through stabilization
Support distributor execution with UNFI, KeHE, and DSD partners
Recruit and develop a lean, high-performing store team
Maintain strong shrink control and inventory accuracy
Execute merchandising resets and replenishment cadence
Align café operations with grocery traffic flow and repeat-visit behavior
Establish the store as a neighborhood destination within the Tampa market

Role Requirements
Prior store opening experience is strongly preferred.
Conventional and Natural channel experience.
Compensation
Base salary: $110,000–$125,000 depending on experience
Performance bonus: 10%–15%
Retention bonus available after 12 months of successful store operation
Option for equity for long term positioning
Relocation assistance available where applicable
