Senior Preconstruction Manager
for a key leadership role. Our client specializes in
complex technical projects , including
healthcare facilities, higher education campuses, life science labs, hospitality/high-rise, mixed-use developments , and
mission-critical/data center builds .
This role is ideal for a seasoned preconstruction leader who understands the intricacies and expectations of high-spec, high-stakes environments—and is ready to drive successful outcomes from concept through buyout.

What You’ll Be Doing
Lead full preconstruction efforts on large, technically complex projects (up to $200M+)
Produce detailed cost estimates from schematic through final construction documents
Write comprehensive subcontractor scopes and lead the buyout process
Ensure alignment of project scope and cost with client budgets and technical requirements
Collaborate with operations, scheduling, and logistics teams
Mentor junior preconstruction team members and foster team growth
Contribute to RFQ/RFP development, interview prep, and project pursuits
Build lasting relationships with clients, design teams, and trade partners
Engage with industry and community organizations to represent the firm
Ideal Candidate Profile You're a detail-driven, technically proficient preconstruction professional with deep experience managing sophisticated building projects' unique demands. You understand how to lead teams, coordinate with multiple stakeholders, and deliver clarity during early project phases.
Key Qualifications
15+ years of preconstruction experience with a commercial general contractor
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field
Direct experience estimating and managing preconstruction on projects in
healthcare, higher ed, labs, mixed-use, or mission-critical sectors
Familiarity with complex building systems, code requirements, and infrastructure integration
Skilled in conceptual budgeting and planning with minimal design info
Proficiency in Destini Estimator, Onscreen Takeoff, BIM, Excel
Experience with Procore, Revit, or SketchUp is a strong plus
Proven ability to guide preconstruction through award and buyoutExcellent communication and presentation skills
Preferred Experience
Background in
Design-Build
or
Integrated Project Delivery (IPD)
Expertise in pursuing and winning
negotiated/CM
work
Established trade contractor relationships in technical markets
Involvement in ASHE, SCUP, ISPE, AFCOM, or similar industry groups
