Deputy Director of Finance / Assistant Controller
Our client is a Dallas HQ based growing ($3B) organization embracing collaboration and innovation currently seeking to add Deputy Director of Finance/Accounting (newly created role due to growth). Ideal individual must possess a proven track record of scaling and refining accounting/finance function for a rapidly growing firm.
Reporting directly to the CFO, this role will lead Finance/Accounting processes, driving innovation, creativity, and execution while adapting to an evolving role.
Responsibilities
Oversee and lead the company\'s financial activities including budgeting, forecasting, reporting, auditing and financial operations
Collaborate cross-functionally with teams including Sales, Operations, Engineering, Product, Marketing, and Human Resources on initiatives impacting the financial reporting of the company including all financial metrics and KPIs
Manage all aspects of the monthly close process including revenues, expenses, T&E, equity, taxes, as well as KPIs and metrics
Develop and drive necessary financial policies, procedures, and internal controls, and play a leading role in directing change initiatives and process improvements
Create executive presentations of financial results for review with senior executives
Support external audit engagements including managing and coordinating with auditors and external service providers, and preparation/review of audited financial statements and footnote disclosures
Identify risks, implement controls, and maintain proper process documentation
Provide support for other ad hoc analyses and projects as needed
Qualifications
Bachelor\'s Degree in Accounting is a must, CPA preferred
7+ years accounting experience either from Public Accounting or Private Accounting teams
Strong knowledge of accounting systems and system implementation
In-depth experience working with general ledger and financial analysis, including journal entries and detailed account analyses
Experience or interest in accounting for financial companies
