Thor Companies is seeking an experienced Construction Executive – Mission Critical to lead the delivery of large-scale, complex data center and mission-critical projects in the Atlanta region. This role demands a strategic thinker with deep technical expertise, exceptional leadership skills, and a proven track record of driving safety, quality, and operational excellence in high-value construction environments.

You’ll be accountable for the entire project lifecycle, from concept design and permitting through commissioning and closeout, ensuring every project meets its budget, schedule, and performance objectives. As the senior point of contact for clients, contractors, and internal stakeholders, you will champion collaboration, innovation, and efficiency at every stage.

Responsibilities

Develop and execute strategic construction plans for mission-critical and data center projects, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.

Manage pre-construction, permitting, design, construction, commissioning, and turnover with meticulous attention to detail.

Instill a culture of safety, precision, and professionalism across all teams and trades.

Oversee project budgets ($100M+), GMP establishment, contract negotiations, cost controls, and value engineering initiatives.

Collaborate with development, engineering, operations, EH&S, finance, and capital markets teams to ensure smooth execution.

Analyze and negotiate construction schedules, mitigate risks, and resolve challenges that threaten cost, schedule, or safety.

Act as the primary interface for clients, funding partners, and executive leadership, providing clear communication and high-level reporting.

Lead, manage, and inspire project teams, cultivating a high-performance culture that thrives under pressure.

Qualifications

Experience:

8–15 years in large-scale construction leadership (data center or mission-critical facilities required).

Technical Depth:

Expertise in mission-critical design/build projects, OFCI/CFCI procurement, commissioning processes, and complex MEP systems.

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field (or equivalent experience).

Leadership Skills:

Proven ability to lead diverse teams, resolve complex issues, and deliver projects on time and within budget.

Financial Acumen:

Strong grasp of project cost structures, scheduling, and contract management (AIA Contracts, Payment Applications, Change Orders, etc.).

Tools & Tech:

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Bluebeam, BIM platforms, and construction management software.

Mindset:

Strategic thinker, detail-oriented, and adaptable problem solver with a positive, team-first attitude.
