Pay Details
The annual base salary range for this position in California is $225,000 to $250,000 per year. The starting pay for the successful candidate depends on various job-related factors, including but not limited to the candidate’s geographic location, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, education/training, internal value, peer equity, external market demands, and organizational considerations.
Position Summary
The Senior Director of Procurement leads OCVIBE’s purchasing and procurement function and works closely with affiliated entities to drive significant improvements in sourcing strategy across the dynamic sports, entertainment and hospitality sector. This role requires a deep understanding of procurement processes, strong leadership skills, and a proven track record in vendor management, process optimization, and strategic sourcing. This role oversees workflow enhancement and vendor consolidation and manages the Request for Proposal (RFP) process to ensure we achieve the highest quality and cost-efficiency standards.
Responsibilities Develop and execute a robust procurement strategy that aligns with the company’s business objectives, optimizing sourcing strategies to drive cost savings and value creation
Identify opportunities for vendor consolidation to streamline procurement processes and enhance bargaining power
Leverage procurement system modules to streamline procurement and payment processes, ensuring seamless integration with finance, inventory management, and supply chain operations to enhance efficiency and data accuracy
Utilize analytics and reporting to gain actionable insights into procurement performance, supplier trends, and spend analysis to enable data-driven decision-making
Implement and manage automated procurement workflows to reduce manual tasks, minimize errors, and accelerate procurement cycles from requisition and approval processes to purchase orders and vendor payments
Evaluate existing vendor relationships and negotiate contracts to secure favorable terms, conducting periodic supplier performance reviews for compliance with obligations and standards
Assess current procurement workflows and identify areas for improvement, implementing best practices and innovative solutions to automate and streamline processes, reduce lead times, and ensure timely delivery of high-quality products
Streamline and automate purchase order creation, approval, and tracking to increase efficiency and reduce error rates
Lead the RFP process for major procurement projects, including developing RFP documents, managing submissions and evaluations, and selecting suppliers
Ensure RFPs are structured to elicit the best responses and align project requirements with budget constraints
Oversee the procurement budget, ensuring spending aligns with financial goals and delivers value
Monitor procurement costs and implement cost-control measures to achieve financial targets while maintaining quality standards
Conduct market research to stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and pricing to inform sourcing strategies
Identify and mitigate risks associated with the supply chain, including potential disruptions and compliance issues
Ensure all procurement activities adhere to relevant regulations and internal policies
Facilitate effective communication and collaboration to address cross-departmental needs
Perform other duties and projects as assigned
Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field
Master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., CPP or CPSM) preferred
10-15 years of experience in purchasing and procurement
Experience within the sports, entertainment and hospitality industries preferred
Knowledge of end-to-end procurement processes, including strategic sourcing, contract management, and vendor relations
Knowledge of legal and regulatory requirements related to procurement and contract management
Knowledge of procurement software and systems (ERP, e-sourcing) and ability to leverage these technologies for improvements
Expertise in analyzing market trends, supply chain risks, and industry developments relevant to the field
Proficiency in budget management, cost analysis, and financial reporting related to procurement
Strong negotiation skills to secure favorable terms and drive cost savings while maintaining quality
Project management skills to oversee procurement lifecycle and implement improvements
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong analytical abilities to assess procurement data and solve problems
Able to develop and execute a long-term procurement strategy that adapts to market conditions
Able to build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and drive improvements
Able to optimize procurement workflows and leverage technology
Able to work effectively with other departments to align procurement with business objectives
