Summary This position is located in the Architect of the Capitol, Office of the Chief of Operations (OCO). The Operations Staff Director serves as the senior assistant, staff director and overall advisor to the OCO, providing assistance, advice and guidance for AOC operations, programs, plans, policies and procedures.

Duties Provide senior assistance and advisory support to the Office of the Chief of Operations, overseeing OCO operations, programs, plans, policies and procedures.

Qualifications

Meet the United States Office of Personnel Management (OPM) qualification requirements, including specialized experience and/or educational requirements for the advertised position.

Possess at least one full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience comparable in difficulty and responsibility to at least the GS‑14 level in the federal service.

Hold a bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering or architecture from an accredited college or university.

Possess Federal Acquisition Certification (FAC‑C) (Professional) – highly preferable.

Have significant experience in facilities and operations management or engineering, with knowledge in contracting, procurement and historic building systems.

Demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written, and sound judgment with strong planning and problem‑solving skills.

Show proven experience in continuous operational efficiency, improvement and innovation.
