About This Role ContainerPort Group, a World Group company, is currently looking for a dedicated, driven person to join our family as a Regional Director for our growing operations in the North Atlantic Region!
The Regional Director is responsible for supporting and developing our Terminal Managers and their teams in field Operations. The focus will be on reviewing all operational aspects of our business and holding those accountable for efficiency, profitability, and growth goals. This role is responsible for cascading the executive vision to the field to achieve our goals and maintain our core values.
Duties and Responsibilities
Review Safety KPI’s with the TMs on improvements and recognition in areas performing well and develop a plan/execute in area’s needing improvement
Work closely with TMs, mentoring, supporting, and providing servant leadership
Review P&L financials to what was budgeted and where we currently stand (including GP, NOI, and NI)
Coach TMs in recognizing and developing others
Work closely with team members to resolve challenges in a limited time
Build local relationships with ICs to improve retention and drive referrals
Work closely with sales to develop new business through existing customers, expanding new lanes and increasing volume
Stay knowledgeable about the market and work with sales to gain new opportunities
Work closely with the TMs on facility maintenance, making necessary improvements without delay
Promote and work with teams to achieve the company’s vision
Collaborate with TMs on budgeting
Work closely with Safety, Finance, Recruiting, and the CX teams daily regarding strategic goals
Make necessary adjustments for the benefit of the operation and the teams
Education and Experience
5+ years’ experience working DIRECTLY IN a company (NOT with a company) that provided Intermodal Transportation to other businesses required
High School Diploma or GED required
Bachelor’s degree in Business preferred
Intermodal industry knowledge and experience is required
5+ years’ experience in Intermodal Transportation required
Knowledge of electronic logs, HOS, and FMCSA roadability challenges
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Solutions focused with problem solving skills
Ability to work extensively with internal and external contacts via email, phone, and other methods of communication
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Ability to travel up to 40%
Working Conditions
Normal office working conditions in an open environment with low noise level
Physical Requirements
The person in this position frequently communicates with external contacts and other employees. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
Must be able to remain in a stationary position for extended periods of time
Must be able to constantly operate a computer and other office equipment
Ability to travel in and out of state
