Senior Interior Designer (Workplace Design)
This role blends research, creativity, and practical design thinking to deliver thoughtful, code‑compliant workplace and commercial interiors. You’ll partner closely with firm leadership, lead complex projects end‑to‑end, and mentor designers—contributing to a collaborative, high‑performing design studio.
Key Responsibilities
Partner with Principals, Designers, and Architects to elevate firm-wide design standards.
Lead design across all project phases—from fit planning and concept through construction and post‑occupancy.
Serve as lead designer on multiple complex projects and manage small to mid-size teams.
Collaborate with Project Managers on mid‑to large‑scale projects.
Lead client meetings, interviews, presentations, tours, and visioning sessions.
Participate in marketing, proposals, interviews, and PR efforts.
Interface with clients, consultants, contractors, vendors, and agencies.
Review drawings, manage design budgets, and support cost estimates.
Mentor junior designers and provide technical and design oversight.
Stay current on design trends, tools, and workplace strategy.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Interior Design or Architecture.
12+ years of experience in workplace, commercial interiors, and tenant improvement projects.
NCIDQ certification required; LEED and/or WELL strongly preferred.
Expert knowledge of interior project delivery, building/fire codes, and accessibility.
Strong leadership, communication, and collaborative skills.
Technical Skills
Autodesk Revit (required)
Adobe Creative Suite (preferred)
Mural collaboration platform (required)
Office 365 (required)
Enscape modeling, hand sketching, sustainable design experience (plus)
Job Type & Location Permanent position based out of San Francisco, CA.
Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $115,000.00 - $145,000.00/yr.
