Talimer's client, a full-service digital agency based in Milwaukee, seeks a

Front-End Developer/Designer

to build and maintain high-quality websites and digital experiences for a diverse client portfolio, with a strong focus on WordPress and working knowledge of Shopify.

This is a hands‑on development role for someone who moves comfortably between design and code. You'll translate static comps and wireframes into clean, responsive, production‑ready builds, working closely with designers, UX professionals, and other developers across a range of projects, from custom WordPress builds to commercial theme implementations.

The team takes craftsmanship seriously and has a culture of continuous improvement, which means you'll have room to contribute to front‑end standards and process, not just execute against them.

Job Description Beyond execution, this role has room to grow. You'll contribute to process improvements and help shape front‑end standards as part of a team that values quality and craft. The environment is collaborative and agency‑paced, and the expectation is that you bring both technical rigor and a genuine eye for design to everything you ship.

Responsibilities

Build and maintain custom and theme‑based WordPress sites, including theming, customization, and page builder implementations using Astra, Avada, Beaver Builder, and Elementor

Write clean, well‑documented code following front‑end and WordPress best practices

Translate static comps and wireframes from Figma into clean, responsive, production‑ready code

Create and manage custom post types and Advanced Custom Fields (ACF)

Build content filters and facets for content‑rich websites

Implement UI/UX design with attention to usability, visual consistency, and accessibility

Apply SEO best practices through semantic HTML structure

Support front‑end customization for Shopify themes

Contribute to front‑end standards and process improvements

Collaborate with designers, UX professionals, and developers across concurrent client projects

Requirements

3+ years of professional experience in front‑end or WordPress‑focused development roles

An excellent portfolio demonstrating the skills and experience listed below

Strong understanding of HTML5, CSS, and responsive design principles

Strong front‑end and theming skills with the ability to faithfully reproduce static comps into working code

SEO knowledge and application of best practices through semantic HTML structure

Exceptional WordPress proficiency including theming, customization, and hands‑on experience with commercial themes and builders such as Astra, Avada, Beaver Builder, and Elementor

Familiarity with Shopify themes and front‑end customization

UI/UX design and implementation experience with attention to usability and visual consistency

Experience using Figma for UI design, wireframing, and collaboration

Creation and management of custom post types and Advanced Custom Fields (ACF)

Experience creating filters and facets for content‑rich websites

Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills

Formal education from a technical school or university is a plus, but proven real‑world experience is valued more than credentials

Nice to Have

Custom WordPress plugin development and plugin extension experience

Experience with the WordPress REST API

Comfort working with front‑end frameworks such as Bootstrap and Foundation

Experience integrating with third‑party platforms and APIs

Ability to work with additional stacks or languages beyond the core requirements

Familiarity with unit testing, integration testing, and TDD

Exposure to agile and waterfall development processes

Mobile development and Progressive Web App (PWA) experience

Experience with CMS platforms beyond WordPress such as Umbraco, Kentico, or Sitecore
