Oncology, Field Medical Alignment Director (FMAD)

Role Summary The Field Medical Alignment Director (FMAD) supports the achievement of our scientific and medical strategies across the portfolio of Company Products, serving as part of the Country Field Medical Affairs Leadership Team. Key responsibilities include working on continuous development, continuity, alignment, and improvement of cross‑functional activities, systems and processes impacting all Country Therapeutic Area (TA) Field Medical Affairs to ensure that work is uniform, complete, and consistent with relevant policy letters.

Responsibilities Strategic Planning and Execution Leadership

Serve as an active member and participant on the Country TA Field Medical Affairs Leadership Team

Ensure alignment and optimization of strategy as well as execution across all Country TA Field Medical Affairs Teams

Ensure all bi‑directional Country TA communications between Headquarters and Field are streamlined, simplified and coordinated in adherence to all company policies and procedures

Hold responsibility for the continuous development and improvement of cross‑functional alignment between various therapeutic areas

Participate in resource planning, policy development, and implementation of the Country TA Field Medical Affairs goals and objectives

Hold responsibility for establishing standardized operating model as well as capturing and instilling best practices across TAs

Reviews medical plans and assets and recommend US MA required resources and processes to ensure Field Medical execution excellence

Interacts with and leverages strong relationships with therapeutic thought leaders to understand competitive landscape within the healthcare environment

Analyze emerging trends to determine gaps and opportunities

Operational Excellence

Serve as the primary Country TA Field Medical Affairs point of contact for all operational and logistical stakeholders for aspects impacting the full TA team

Establish standardized operating model, and capturing and instilling best practices across field councils including FMADs/Health Systems FMADs, US Directors of Medical Affairs (DMA), US Medical Affairs (USMA) Executive Directors, and Team Leads to optimize USMA execution

Represent Country TA Field Medical Affairs at departmental or cross‑functional meetings impacting the full TA teams to ensure appropriate resource allocation, alignment and planning

Continuously scan the healthcare environment and analyze emerging trends to determine individual skills and competencies to drive future organizational capabilities

Provide and leverage expert knowledge, innovative thinking and resources to assist in high priority projects and critical departmental/team meetings and events

Strategically inform Country TA Leadership Team of gaps and/or opportunities to enhance processes and systems for Country TA Field Medical Affairs

Exhibit expert understanding of company and organizational policies and procedures

Required Qualifications Minimum required education

Advanced healthcare/science doctoral degree (e.g., M.D., Pharm.D., Ph.D.)

Minimum required experience and skills

At least 5 years field medical affairs experience, including a demonstration of leadership in the role and a minimum of 2 years in HQ role or equivalent

Minimum of 3 years working in oncology

Excellent interpersonal, analytical, strategic, tactical planning, project leadership and communication skills

Ability to handle a demanding and changing workload and respond efficiently to timelines and changing market events

Ability to work across a diverse portfolio along the product life cycle

Ability to effectively communicate information to internal and external stakeholders at all levels (e.g., senior leadership, management, and individual contributors)

Business acumen with a superior understanding of the pharmaceutical industry and healthcare arena

Proven ability to work with cross‑functional matrix teams and collaborate across multiple stakeholder groups (e.g., therapeutic areas)

Proven track record of contribution to medical and scientific development strategies within the pharmaceutical industry

Full proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Excel, PPT, Word, etc.)

Preferred Experience and Skills

Scientific acumen and experience

Working knowledge of solid tumors, hematology, Immuno‑Oncology, ADCs

MBA a plus

Strategy lead and/or additional experience in a strategy and operations type role, in oncology and medical affairs

U.S. Hybrid Work Model Effective September 5, 2023, employees in office‑based positions in the U.S. will be working a hybrid work model consisting of three total days on‑site per week, Monday‑Thursday, with Friday designated as a remote‑working day unless business critical tasks require an on‑site presence.

Compensation and Benefits Salary range: $210,400.00 – $331,100.00. The successful candidate will be eligible for annual bonus and long‑term incentive, if applicable.

Benefits include medical, dental, vision healthcare and other insurance benefits for employee and family, retirement benefits including 401(k), paid holidays, vacation, and compassionate and sick days.
