Job Overview A Customer Business Manager is responsible for developing and executing SOPs designed to provide accountability focused on increasing sales, profits, and market share and minimizing expenses. This role will service and provide a high degree of customer relations support for accounts they support. They may be responsible for directly or indirectly overseeing the performance of the Account Specialists and Sales Analysts.

Job Responsibilities

Coordinate regular communication with Customer Care and Sales.

Responsible for communication/documentation for 3rd Party Billings.

Develop SOPs to ensure formalized processes.

Implement trackers to ensure tasks are completed by assigned deadlines.

Create partnerships with vendors, brokers, and other trade partners.

May oversee and manage the performance of some Account Specialists and Sales Analysts for their customer(s).

Courteously and promptly resolve customer questions and problems or properly refer them to appropriate personnel.

Understanding of all system-generated reports as required by the customer (sales, inventory, performance).

Maintain excellent customer relations. Meet or exceed client expectations and established deadlines.

Ensure that existing accounts are serviced following Company standards and policies. Provide recommendations that are a win-win for the customer and the company.

Direct communication with customers when needed.

Develop and maintain effective internal/external working relationships with a diverse group of individuals.

Performs Other Relevant Job Duties As Required. Job Requirements Education / Certifications

Bachelor’s degree in marketing or business management (or a related field) or equivalent experience

Experience

Minimum of five years of experience

3+ years of people management and sales experience

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

Understanding and knowledge of company products.

Working knowledge of sales forecasting, programs, promotions, and related techniques.

Working knowledge of Profit and Loss Statements.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Working knowledge of margin and company profitability.

Strong leadership and management skills.

Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.

Ability to interact at all levels of business.

Ability to manage and coordinate projects.

Comfortable in a highly open, dynamic, and collaborative company culture.

Ability to work in a fast-paced, sales team environment.

Demonstrated ability to drive new business and close sales.

The ability to excel at customer service skills, problem solving, attention to detail, and organizational skills.

Work Environment Hybrid Role

This position follows a hybrid schedule working in an office 2-3 days per week. The acceptable split between onsite and remote work is determined by the manager and the customer’s request. Hybrid associates may choose to work from an office on a more frequent basis than required.

Travel (minor)

This position may require the associate to travel to company offices, distribution centers, or other locations for specific meetings or other business reasons.

Physical Environment / Demands Office Roles

Most work is performed in a temperature-controlled office environment.

Incumbent may sit for long periods at a desk or computer terminal.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.

Incumbent may use calculators, keyboards, telephones, and other office equipment in the course of a normal workday.

Stooping, bending, twisting, and reaching may be required in the completion of job duties.

Compensation UNFI anticipates paying the above-referenced pay rate (or within the above-referenced pay range) for this position. Actual Pay, where applicable, will depend on a number of factors, including, but not limited to, education, experience, training, and any requirements under applicable collective bargaining agreements.
