Raytheon’s Naval Power (NP) Business Unit The NP R&C business unit is seeking an Associate Director, Requirements and Capabilities (R&C) – Naval Air Missiles (NAM) Joint Standoff Weapon (JSOW) to lead domestic and international business strategy, capture, and growth in a high‑demand long‑range effector market space. The Associate Director will support existing customer commitments while strategically building business growth opportunities to fulfill the mission requirements of our trusted global partners.

Responsibilities

Collaborate across JSOW and NAM functional teams to grow the business pipeline and support all elements of pursuit capture and lifecycle program management.

Formulate and lead competitive strategies to win pursuits: understand the strategic environment, including competitor strengths, weaknesses, and market position.

Execute competitor intelligence gathering efforts to help Raytheon’s businesses better understand and counter competitor actions.

Coordinate growth strategy and customer engagements across multiple business units, U.S. DoD services, and international partners.

Support the Naval Air Missile Strategic Sub‑Business Unit (SSBU) R&C Team to identify and develop new business opportunities, and position new business resources to achieve year‑over‑year pipeline growth.

Coordinate with functional leaders in NP and associated programs on activities related to meeting performance objectives, managing pursuits, and supporting domestic and international effector captures.

Support development and marketing strategies to achieve business goals aligned with customer plans and programs.

Focus on the customer: understand their environment, threat capabilities, problems, priorities, limitations, and requirements.

Understand defense effector capabilities and capacity gaps to shape emerging customer requirements to Raytheon solutions.

Develop and implement internal and external customer contact plans.

Lead and support internal Raytheon Gate Reviews; conduct internal and external briefings.

Collaborate with RTX Global Government Relations (GGR) at the federal and state/local levels on public policy advocacy and development of new technologies.

Approximately 40% annual domestic and international travel for customer engagements and trade shows.

Possible work locations: VA – Arlington, AZ – Tucson or TX‑McKinney.

Qualifications You Must Have

A university degree or equivalent experience and a minimum of 12 years of experience working with business development, program management, and/or DoD requirements generation and acquisition execution, or an advanced degree and a minimum of 10 years of experience.

Experience with DoD acquisition or requirements resourcing.

Experience developing growth strategies, roadmaps, or business plans for defense effectors or weapons systems.

Experience developing Foreign Military Sales (FMS) and Direct Commercial Sales (DCS) cases in compliance with International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).

Qualifications We Prefer

Former U.S. Military Officer with operational experience in mission planning, training, and employment tactics of the JSOW weapons system.

Experience with U.S. Government Planning, Programming, Budget and/or Execution (PPBE) process.

Ability to identify potential Raytheon growth opportunities and proven ability to develop effective professional relationships through personal influence.

Ability to effectively translate voice‑of‑the‑warfighter inputs into strategic discriminators.

Previous operational experience in tactical strike‑fighter aviation platforms.

Hybrid role: employees work regularly both onsite and off‑site. The ratio of onsite time will be determined in partnership with your leader.

The salary range for this role is USD 157,200 – 298,800. This range is a good‑faith estimate representing all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to the role, function, associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these programs are not guaranteed and depend on individual performance, business unit performance, and company performance.

This is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
