As Director of Web Engineering, you will own the end-to-end strategy, architecture, and execution of the enterprise web platform, ensuring it delivers measurable impact across demand generation, customer experience, and brand engagement. Key Responsibilities
Define and execute the long-term technical vision and roadmap for the global web platform, aligning architecture with business growth and customer experience outcomes
Own the end-to-end enterprise WordPress ecosystem, ensuring scalability, flexibility, and maintainability across themes, plugins, integrations, and reusable components
Lead platform modernization efforts that reduce technical debt, improve system performance, and enable faster delivery of digital capabilities
Drive adoption of modern architectures, including API-driven and headless approaches, to support personalization and omnichannel experiences
Establish and enforce engineering standards that elevate code quality, accessibility compliance, and platform reliability at scale
Oversee hosting strategy, infrastructure performance, and CI/CD pipelines to ensure high availability, efficient releases, and operational excellence
Strengthen platform security and governance, proactively managing risk, compliance requirements, and incident response readiness
Optimize site performance and technical SEO to improve discoverability, engagement, and conversion outcomes
Lead and develop a global engineering organization, fostering technical excellence, accountability, and strong cross-functional collaboration
Partner with marketing, UX, analytics, and executive stakeholders to translate complex technical decisions into business-aligned outcomes
Required Qualifications
12+ years of experience in web development, including 5+ years leading engineering teams
Deep expertise in enterprise WordPress development, including custom themes, plugins, and large-scale implementations
Strong proficiency in PHP, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS, APIs, and modern web architectures
Demonstrated experience managing high-traffic, enterprise-level web platforms
Strong knowledge of hosting environments, DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and release management
Expertise in performance optimization, caching strategies, CDN configuration, and Core Web Vitals
Experience implementing technical SEO and accessibility standards such as WCAG and ADA
Proven success leading distributed or global engineering teams
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure, or enterprise WordPress hosting providers
Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker or infrastructure-as-code practices
Background in B2B, SaaS, or complex enterprise digital ecosystems
Compensation This role has a market-competitive salary with an anticipated base compensation range listed below. Actual salaries will vary depending on a candidate’s experience, qualifications, skills, and location. This role might also be eligible for a commission or performance-based bonus opportunities.
$164,900.00 - $290,100.00
