Department Overview The Strategy Department is responsible for the on-going review and implementation of PG&E’s 10-year enterprise strategy known as the True North Strategy (TNS).
Position Summary We are looking for a corporate strategy analyst to help shape the long‑term direction of our electric and gas utility business as the industry undergoes rapid transformation. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys tackling complex, system‑level challenges, from grid modernization and financial growth to regulatory strategy and customer energy solutions. We require someone with both an internal and external perspective as our operating environment is changing dramatically and our internal capabilities need to evolve to meet the moment. You’ll partner with leaders across operations, finance, regulatory affairs, and customer programs to evaluate opportunities, assess risks, and support initiatives that strengthen the reliability, affordability, and sustainability of our energy services.
This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and your assigned work location based on business need. The work location is Oakland, CA.
The range to reasonably expect will be between the minimum and the midpointof the range. Thefinal decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to the factors above.
This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E’s discretionary incentive compensation programs.
Bay Area Minimum: $122,000.00
Bay Area Midpoint: $158,000.00
Bay Area Maximum: $194,000.00
Job Responsibilities
Storytelling : Communicate complex topics in a clear and accessible manner through PowerPoint or written products and verbal briefings.
Competitive and Market Research : Conduct thorough assessments to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
Quantitative Analysis : Perform complex modeling and benchmarking to turn data into insights.
Cross-Functional Collaboration : Collaborate with varied internal teams to ensure alignment across the company.
Bespoke Projects : Create and manage bespoke projects to meet the specific business intelligence needs of senior leadership.
Qualifications Minimum
Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Business, Finance, Policy, Sociology, Engineering, Physics or other related fields or equivalent work experience
Minimum of 6 years of job-related experience
Desired
2+ years in a management consultant related role or corporate strategy experience
Exceptional analytical skills, ability to distill complex information into clear, actionable insights, and effective engagement with diverse stakeholders
High degree of emotional intelligence, interpersonal skills and relationship building
Ability to navigate complex organizations and stakeholder engagement experience
Highly organized, with demonstrated ability to balance multiple priorities at once
Excellent communication skills and experience communicating with multiple diverse stakeholder groups
Exceptional Microsoft PowerPoint skills
Proven ability to manage fast paced and highly dynamic situations
