Assistant Director, Graduate Admissions The George Washington University Elliott School of International Affairs (ESIA) is a leading international affairs school that educates the next generation of leaders, conducts research, and engages the policy community. The Assistant Director, Graduate Admissions will execute a comprehensive recruiting strategy in local markets, including virtual recruitment activities, directly impacting enrollment projections each semester.

Duties and Responsibilities

Execute a comprehensive, data-driven recruitment strategy in local markets, ensuring all on-campus and off-campus events are planned, developed and marketed through Slate CRM.

Serve as the primary contact within the DMV area for recruiting, attending fairs, hosting coffee chats, and conducting outreach to area employers.

Perform initial reviews of applications for domestic and international applicants, including evaluation of international credentials.

Support International Partnerships work, including drafting MOUs and promoting exchange programs.

Provide targeted logistical support to special populations in the admissions process, such as international students, including processing visa documents.

Coordinate Elliott School-hosted recruitment events including the annual Fall Open Houses and other campus and local events.

Perform other related duties as assigned.

Hybrid position: three days on-site and two days remote. Schedule may include evenings, weekends, or holidays. Some travel may be required.

Minimum Qualifications Hold a Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate field plus at least two (2) years of relevant professional experience, or a Master’s degree or higher in a relevant field. The degree must be conferred by the start date of the position. Equivalent combinations of education, training, and experience may substitute the degree requirement.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in higher education administration, preferably in admissions.

Skill in reviewing and evaluating graduate-level applicant credentials.

Experience in a school of international affairs and knowledge of international student credentials and visa requirements.

Ability to work a varied schedule that includes evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Knowledge of student systems, especially Slate or Banner.

Some experience with graphic/web design.

Compensation and Benefits Annual salary range: $45,925.13 – $63,191.56.
