Carrfour Supportive Housing is seeking a creative and mission-driven Digital Storytelling & Social Media Intern to help share the stories and impact of our supportive and affordable housing communities across Florida. Carrfour is a leader in supportive housing in Florida. Our work transforms lives by providing stable housing and services to people facing the greatest barriers to housing stability. This role offers an opportunity to help tell the stories that demonstrate why supportive housing works and why it matters. This entry-level position is ideal for someone passionate about social impact, housing equity, and nonprofit communications who enjoys creating engaging digital content.
About Carrfour Carrfour Supportive Housing is a nonprofit developer and operator of supportive and affordable housing communities across Florida. Since 1993, Carrfour has developed more than 2,100 housing units serving individuals and families experiencing homelessness and housing instability, combining quality housing with comprehensive supportive services to promote long-term stability.
Position Overview The Digital Storytelling & Social Media Internship will support Carrfour’s communications and outreach by creating engaging digital content that highlights resident success stories, community initiatives, and the impact of supportive housing. This role works closely with leadership, resident services teams, and partner organizations to bring Carrfour’s mission to life through compelling storytelling.
Key Responsibilities
Create and manage content for Carrfour’s social media platforms (LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, etc.)
Develop short videos, photos, and graphics highlighting residents, programs, and community events
Write blog posts, newsletters, and digital stories that showcase the impact of supportive housing
Assist with advocacy and public education campaigns related to affordable and supportive housing
Support promotion of community events, conferences, and new housing developments
Track engagement metrics and provide insights on digital performance
Coordinate with internal teams to gather stories, photos, and updates from communities
Preferred Skills
Strong writing and storytelling ability
Basic video editing and photography skills
Experience with Canva, Adobe Express, or similar tools
Familiarity with social media management platforms
Interest in housing, homelessness solutions, or nonprofit advocacy
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or current student in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Digital Media, or related field
Internship or volunteer experience in communications or social media preferred
Passion for nonprofit work and community impact
Florida (hybrid or remote with occasional travel to housing communities and events)
