
Director of Philanthropy & Community Engagement

Position Summary
Provide strategic leadership for WellPower’s integrated philanthropy and community engagement efforts, building a high-performing, cross-functional program that generates $1M in annual philanthropic revenue while achieving 5–8% year-over-year growth. This role ensures fundraising, donor engagement, and community partnerships are aligned with WellPower’s strategic priorities and long-term financial sustainability, strengthens donor relationships and retention, advances mission-aligned community engagement centered on lived experience, and delivers clear, data-informed outcomes through effective leadership, external representation, and compelling impact storytelling.
Compensation & Benefits $108.992 - $164,008 per year
Job Duties & Functions
Lead a comprehensive fundraising program generating $1M in annual philanthropic revenue, representing approximately 1% of total organizational revenue, and will deliver 5–8% year-over-year growth while strengthening donor retention, major gift performance, and long-term sustainability of the donor pipeline.
Lead and supervise cross-functional staff advancing fundraising, donor engagement, grant development, and mission-aligned community engagement.
Oversee team budgets and philanthropic revenue forecasting in partnership with executive leadership and Finance, ensuring alignment with fundraising goals and performance targets.
Ensure fundraising, donor engagement, and community initiatives are aligned with WellPower’s strategic priorities and long-term financial sustainability.
Represent WellPower with funders, donors, corporations, and community partners to advance strategic relationships and organizational growth.
Develop and deliver strategic presentations and materials for executive leadership, the Board, funders, and external partners highlighting fundraising priorities, donor engagement, and organizational impact.
Set clear team objectives grounded in WellPower’s guiding principles and uses metrics, dashboards, and performance indicators to drive sustained results.
Connect community impact to philanthropy through clear, compelling narratives.
Oversee organizational partnerships and community engagement strategies that center lived experience and reciprocal partnership.
Maintain a trauma informed environment of wellbeing.
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements & Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, communications, political science, public policy, or related field.
Demonstrated experience building and scaling a philanthropy function from the ground up to secure meaningful, mission-advancing revenue.
5 years of demonstrated leadership experience supervising teams across core fundraising functions.
Work Location This is a hybrid opportunity open to folks residing in the Greater Denver Metro area and will require 1–2 days per week on-site and the rest of the week working remotely.
Shift/Hours This is a Monday-Friday opportunity observing standard business hours.
Physical Requirements This largely sedentary role requires frequent computer use, effective communication, manual dexterity for typing, and visual acuity for reading and analyzing on-screen data.
