What You’ll Do

We’re looking for a Senior Portfolio Analyst to join our Target Date team at Principal Asset Management. In this role, you’ll be responsible for research and development initiatives to enhance the construction of target‑date portfolios! Develop and implement multi‑asset investment strategies, including glide path design for target‑date portfolios, aligned with company objectives and client needs Leverage strong quantitative expertise to build, optimize, and maintain glide path models across regions, construct multi‑asset class portfolios, evaluate risk‑return trade‑offs, and support data‑driven investment decisions Analyze and synthesize market trends, investor behaviors, and economic developments for inclusion into target date portfolios Provide research insights and recommendations to the portfolio management team, as well as communicate complex investment concepts and strategies to clients and stakeholders Collaborate with the broader Principal Asset Allocation team—including risk analytics and quantitative partners—to identify and implement strategy enhancement opportunities Continuously evaluate and improve investment processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness Stay informed on competitors' strategies and performance to inform our own investment decisions Who You Are

Seasoned investment professional with direct experience managing or supporting a target date franchise Bachelor's or Master’s degree with an emphasis in finance, economics, accounting, or a technical field 8+ years of asset class modeling with an emphasis on glide path maintenance and construction General knowledge and understanding of investment vehicles, economic and investment theories, the investment environment, retirement investing, and Principal Global Investors' network of specialized investment groups and affiliate product offerings A proven track record of quantitative portfolio construction expertise (e.g., asset allocation, portfolio optimization, scenario analysis, and risk modeling) to support glide path design and ongoing portfolio management Skills That Will Help You Stand Out

CFA designation Experience with Morningstar, Bloomberg, FactSet, Barra and performance attribution/risk decomposition tools Financial modeling experience that includes Excel, Python, or other coding tools Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to efficiently and effectively research, compile and analyze information Ability to manage multiple tasks, work independently in a non‑structured environment, and drive results Salary Range Information

Salary ranges below reflect targeted base salaries. Non‑sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer. Salary Range (Non‑Exempt expressed as hourly; Exempt expressed as yearly)

$157000 - $213000 / year Time Off Program

Flexible Time Off (FTO) is provided to salaried (exempt) employees and provides the opportunity to take time away from the office with pay for vacation, personal or short‑term illness. Employees don’t accrue a bank of time off under FTO and there is no set number of days provided. Pension Eligible
