Position Summary The Field Sales Representative owns and delivers sales for an overall territory by developing relationships with Store Managers and other retail personnel to achieve short- and long-term performance objectives. The focus is on delivering the overall value of retail (VOR) through sales, displays, new items, and core distribution, with a strong emphasis on wall-to-wall coverage and problem solving related to out-of-stocks, new item speed to shelf, share of shelf, price compliance, and promotion selling.

Responsibilities

Sell incremental volume for display and obtain maximum support for promoted products.

Sell promotional surveys for displays.

Sell additional products based on opportunities observed.

Collaborate with targeted store-level/district-level personnel to create and execute business reviews that drive volume.

Lead the expenditure of financial resources in a fiscally responsible manner.

Ensure compliance with pricing guidelines at the retail level.

Report competitive price changes and promotional support issues, and resolve pricing conflicts.

Identify and correct voids and ensure new items are available.

Merchandise products to achieve schematic compliance, pack out shelves, rotate products, handle unsellable items, and resolve systemic problems related to out-of-stocks and voids.

Develop and maintain proper relations with department/store level personnel to maximize sales results.

Communicate market insights from the retail level to management.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Psychology, or related field preferred.

2+ years of retail sales, merchandising, or retail management experience with CPG products preferred (not required).

Valid Driver’s License in good standing.

Excellent customer service, organizational skills, and attention to detail.

Strong communication (oral and written), selling, and analytical skills.

Proficiency in MS Office (Excel/Word/Outlook) and other POS systems.

Ability to analyze financial, inventory, retail, and/or other data to employ appropriate selling techniques.

Strong independence, ability to work with minimal supervision, and meet tight deadlines.

Willingness and ability to travel.

Working Conditions Travel Requirements: frequent overnight travel up to 40% of the time, plus additional business travel to meet customer and operational needs.

Driving: Regular long-distance driving expected to visit client sites, attend meetings, and support field activities.

Location Requirement: Candidates must reside within 50 miles of the largest cluster of stores in the assigned territory.

Physical Demands Lifting/Carrying: Able to lift and transport promotional materials or product samples weighing up to 55 lbs.

Pushing/Pulling/Bending: May be required to set up displays or move carts during customer visits or events.

Standing/Walking: Extended periods of standing and walking are common during store visits, trade shows, and fieldwork.
