CyBourn is a Managed Detection and Response (MDR) organization with a CREST accredited Security Operations Center (SOC).
Our SOC integrates threat intelligence, event monitoring, security analytics, and incident response, leveraging machine learning and automation to detect targeted cyberattacks.
Established in 2018 in Europe, CyBourn’s SOC is located in Bucharest, Romania, and our R&D Lab is in Naples, Italy.
In 2022 we opened a sales hub in the Mid‑Atlantic, marking our full expansion into the U.S. market.
Role Overview The VP of Sales reports to CyBourn’s U.S. executive leadership, will fully establish CyBourn in the U.S. market, and drive exponential revenue growth.
This senior‑management role offers competitive compensation, equity, and benefits.
Laser Focused on Driving Growth Develop short‑ and long‑term business development plans. Leverage your existing network to build a pipeline, qualify opportunities, and close deals. Maintain a robust pipeline of clients to maximize potential revenues. Continuously monitor market trends and feed insights back to internal teams to improve offerings. Bring executive‑level capabilities and a strong network of CXO contacts within target markets.
Lead through Strategic Approach with Tactical Execution Mindset Use a strategic business development plan to conduct capture activities, shape opportunities, and position CyBourn’s future business. Adapt commercial strategies swiftly to tailor responses to market needs. Bring new ideas to executive leadership to ensure commercial success.
Utilize Existing Connections and Relationships Leverage established relationships in the marketplace, including end users and IT service providers (MSPs, VARs, etc.), to boost channel sales opportunities.
Tell Compelling Stories Articulate CyBourn’s offerings and their real value to clients. Strategically evaluate client needs and pain points to develop a compelling narrative of how CyBourn can be a true partner.
Strong Vision and Integrity Manage every stage of the highly consultative, complex sales cycle—from lead generation to closing deals. Spot competitors and refine positioning to win. Adapt commercial strategies and manage change without compromising integrity.

Key Responsibilities
Develop a go‑to‑market strategy and implement a sales plan for the U.S.
Create and maintain a sales pipeline for CyBourn’s Security Operations Center and consulting services.
Implement a comprehensive sales strategy and lead its execution.
Research, initiate, and develop a network of potential leads and prospects.
Close deals through direct sales and channel sales.
Build a sales team after a successful first year in the role.
Set and implement the team’s vision, mission, and KPIs, and define long‑ and short‑term goals.
Monitor customer, partner, and competitor activity and provide feedback to leadership.
Actively participate in industry and networking events.
Conduct webinars and in‑person presentations to generate qualified leads.
Provide weekly, monthly, or quarterly sales and financial reports.
Requirements
Well‑networked and adept sales “hunter” within cybersecurity.
Ability to navigate intricate solution‑service sales processes and present effectively to prospects.
Minimum of 6 years of experience in the cybersecurity industry.
Minimum of 4 years of experience leading business development in cybersecurity organizations.
Experience growing a high‑performing sales team.
Proven success in expanding the client base for U.S. cybersecurity companies.
Thorough knowledge of Managed Security Service delivery models.
Proficient understanding of cybersecurity technologies such as SIEM, EDR, IDS/IPS, firewall, vulnerability management, IAM, and Zero‑Trust.
Knowledge of MITRE ATT&CK tactics, techniques, and sub‑techniques and mitigation strategies.
Proficient knowledge of IT technologies including operating systems, networking, virtualization, cloud, and governance frameworks such as ISO27001, NIST, CIS, CSF, HIPAA, PCI, COBIT, ITIL.
Strong CRM tool expertise.
Entrepreneurial spirit, self‑motivated, team player, passionate, and success‑driven.
Ability to work independently with substantial latitude for action and decision while maintaining focus on desired outcomes.
Strong communication, interpersonal, time‑management, and organizational skills, with experience presenting to C‑suite contacts.
Based in the U.S.; mid‑Atlantic region preferred. Travel as needed.
