This role will be responsible for analyzing consumer and category data to provide business insights and recommendations to improve sales, operations, and profitability for markets and in Pet Category. This individual will support the Walmart Customer Team growth strategy through data analysis and report directly to the Director, while working cross functionally with other category management team members, sales, strategy, marketing, eCommerce, and insights and analytics teams.

Responsibilities

Analyze complex sets of data to provide insights and recommendations addressing product, placement, pricing, and promotions to support the achievement of sales and marketing objectives

Project work will include analytics related to topline reporting, sales reviews, category line reviews, overall business trends, merchandising, assortment, pricing, and shelving across the omnichannel landscape

Identify and validate opportunities within broader Walmart Pet category, using customer POS, syndicated data, category roles, competitive pricing, market data, eCommerce data, and other sources

Proactively support Category Manager and National Account Managers in managing relationships with key customer contacts and syndicated data vendors to maximize partnerships and enhance selling opportunities

Leverage reporting for meetings and developing storylines and presentations to effectively communicate category findings both internally and externally

Develop regular reporting and dashboards that enable category leadership to quickly understand market trends and opportunities

Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Management, Finance, Accounting, Data Analytics, or related field

Experience directly working with Walmart Scintilla/Luminate data required

4+ years of analytical experience in consumer goods, retail, or other relevant industry experience

Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint

Expert level Excel skills with experience using tools such as VLOOKUP, Index Match, Advanced conditional formatting, Pivot Tables/charts and reporting, Macros and VBA, and Data simulations.

Broad knowledge and experience with syndicated data, customer card/POS data, and panel data and their application (e.g., Scintilla, Nielsen, IRI, NPD, Numerator, Spectra/demographics)

Required Skills

Strong attention to detail and technical, report running and analytical abilities

Solid communication skills to include verbal, presentation, and written capabilities

Excellent project management and problem-solving skills

Work Environment This is a hybrid role which includes work from home on Monday and Fridays and in-office work Tuesday through Thursday.

Working conditions are normal for an office environment.
