Outside Sales Account Manager - Industrial Automation Solutions - Delaware and Eastern Maryland

Job summary: The Account Manager is responsible for driving sales at assigned accounts, nurturing, and growing Applied Business within these accounts. Physical Effort & Travel: A valid driver’s license is required. Travel to customer sites is expected about 10 times per week. A car allowance is provided. Working Environment: Due to the diverse customer base, there may be occasional exposure to adverse conditions such as heat, dust, or fumes, typically limited to the time needed to collect information or walk the plant floor. Essential Functions
Achieve sales targets at assigned accounts to meet or exceed profit goals Attend required technical trainings Perform quarterly gap analysis on accounts to grow product offerings View monthly Siemens Automation update webinars Utilize product specialists for presales support; travel with specialists at least once/week Leverage vendor relationships; travel with vendor salespeople at least once/month Negotiate pricing agreements with vendors as needed Promote solutions group sales Collaborate with inside sales to reach out to “B and C” customers Make marketing and event recommendations within the territory Promote training and events to customers Be aware of territorial restrictions Understand competitors’ products and tactics Utilize the Sandler selling process and attend monthly training Follow up on leads within 24 hours Experience, Education, and Skills
HD Diploma or GED; Bachelor's degree preferred 3+ years of industrial sales experience, preferably in automation products and solutions Strong basic selling skills Understanding of automation products and their applications Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams Experience with TDF (CRM) and activity updates Ability to present technical products effectively Ability to understand automation applications and utilize internal/external resources for solutions We are an Equal Employment Opportunity Employer M/F/V/D.
