Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically proficient
Electrical Drafter/Designer
to support the design of power and lighting systems for multifamily and commercial buildings. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of relevant electrical design experience and be skilled in
Revit, AutoCAD , and
photometric analysis software .
This is a
contract-to-direct hire opportunity
with a stable and well-established MEP firm working on high-volume projects across 36 states. Projects typically include
student housing, assisted living, senior living, garden apartments, and other multifamily developments .
Key Responsibilities
Design power and lighting systems at 120v/240v or 120v/208v
Perform
power load analysis
and develop
one-line diagrams
Utilize
photometric software
(e.g., Visual) for lighting layouts and calculations
Produce detailed construction documents in
AutoCAD and Revit
Collaborate with engineers and design staff to meet deadlines and ensure code compliance
Maintain accurate and organized project documentation
Coordinate with team members to resolve design issues and support project execution
Required Qualifications
Minimum 3 years of experience in electrical design for building systems
Proficiency in
AutoCAD
and
Revit
Direct experience with
power and lighting systems
in commercial or residential buildings
Strong knowledge of
load calculations
and
electrical distribution systems
Familiarity with
photometric software
(Visual or similar)
Strong communication, time management, and teamwork skills
Reliable transportation and ability to work 100% onsite
Additional Details
This is an
onsite-only
position in Richardson, TX (no remote work)
Overtime may be required based on project workload Casual dress code
Background check required (7-year history)
