This Operations Manager is responsible for ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient performance of the company’s ammonia production plant and marine terminal, while overseeing O&M contractors and managing logistics for product loading and export.
Key Responsibilities
Manage O&M contractors to achieve reliability goals, implement preventive maintenance, and optimize plant performance. Oversee marine terminal operations, including logistics, scheduling, and documentation for ammonia cargo loading into carriers and barges. Maintain inventory control of refrigerated storage tanks to support continuous production. Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental (HSE) objectives. Monitor rotating equipment performance, including centrifugal compressors and refrigerated liquid pumps. Prepare regular reports for executive leadership on operational, maintenance, and logistical performance.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or a related technical field required. 15–20 years’ experience in the refrigerated gas or chemical industry, preferably with ammonia or other hazardous refrigerated gases. Strong background in plant and terminal operations, maintenance management, and contractor oversight. Experience with marine terminal operations and logistics for refrigerated gas products.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with rotating equipment maintenance, including multi-stage centrifugal compressors and refrigerated liquid pumps. Proven ability to manage budgets, spare parts inventory, and capital maintenance planning. Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across contractors, stakeholders, and executive leadership.
