The overall role and responsibility of this position is to provide store supervision and associate development, and to develop competency in all aspects of store management. This position works closely with the Store Director and department heads to plan for, and achieve maximum sales, proper controls, and positive working conditions. This position assumes responsibility for entire store operations and related decisions as assigned in absence of Store Director, with an emphasis on key service and engagement operations, including cash controls, customer experience, front end and ecommerce operations, scheduling, and Human Resource functions within the store. Strong supervisory, administrative, and associate relations skills are essential. The Store Engagement Manager will work in partnership with the Store Sales and Operations Manager to ensure all areas of responsibility and operations are maintained. Job Responsibilities and Accountabilities

Works through Store Director and department heads to establish budget, plan for and achieve budgetary numbers and evaluate store in this light on an ongoing basis Performs or assists in store grading at discretion of the Store Director Communicates consistently with department heads concerning priorities and objectives Demonstrates understanding of store priorities and can anticipate changes Shows initiative in problem solving Can readily adjust to changing conditions Keeps Store Director informed of store conditions and decisions made Monitors store appearance and conditions to ensure high standards of cleanliness, efficiency, and productivity Checks that store security conditions are maintained Assesses store conditions in each department at least once per hour Checks conditions of parking lot and grounds for safety and cleanliness Monitors associate effectiveness and productivity and ensures efficient labor utilization Ensures store policies and procedures are enforced Reviews and approves weekly schedules before posting, monitors store conditions and makes appropriate adjustments throughout the week as necessary Monitors department planning systems in relation to objectives accomplished Checks that safety procedures are followed and working conditions are safe Monitors customer relations and service levels to ensure a positive shopping environment Monitors Cub Hub dashboard and holds teammates accountable daily for completion of training courses Participates in store meetings Contributes to the decision-making process of the store Makes suggestions and recommendations for improvements Performs delegated Store Director responsibilities in the absence of Store Director or as assigned Supervises Front End Operations Training and oversight of cashiers, CSMs, SCOT attendants, Service Center and Bookkeeping Supervises eCommerce department Overall operation including scheduling, picking, staging, metrics Supervises Maintenance department Ensures store conditions are properly maintained Performs probationary and regular performance reviews Schedules personnel in collaboration with head of maintenance to ensure proper coverage Training and oversight of cart retrieval procedures Performs store personnel functions as necessary Conducts screening interview and recommends candidates to department heads Consults with department heads about personnel problems and works to resolve Administers corrective action notices and consults Store Director on terminations Ensures compliance with union contract rules Payroll/timeclock management Worker’s Compensation and General Liability reporting and follow up Job Requirements

Demonstrates functional/technical store operations expertise Proven managerial skills to successfully monitor performance and accountability Possess strong leadership skills with the ability to lead and motivate others Resourceful with ability to work across all areas of the business Possess the ability to motivate and work in cooperation with others to achieve desired results Demonstrates excellent written and verbal communication skills Good judgment is required for this position as there may be times when direct supervision may not be immediately available The above statements are intended to describe the general nature of the work performed by the employees assigned to this job.
