Base pay range
$60.00/hr - $70.00/hr
Minimum Qualifications and Responsibilities
Minimum 8+ years in mobile application development, with proven expertise in React Native for cross‑platform (iOS/Android) apps, including offline operations via local storage.
Advanced experience in government or public‑sector app development, including compliance with state/federal security standards (e.g., HIPAA/HITECH awareness for data privacy).
Proven track record in offline‑first mobile apps for field use (e.g., in outdoor/recreational contexts).
Familiarity with the State of Montana computing environment and policies.
Strong Mobile Development Experience : Proven expertise in React Native for iOS and Android, including offline capabilities using local storage.
Programming Proficiency : Solid knowledge of Java and object‑oriented programming principles.
API & Web Services : Hands‑on experience consuming and producing JSON REST services.
Database Experience : Familiarity with RDBMS platforms such as Oracle and PostgreSQL.
Additional Desirable Skills : Experience with Agile/Kanban, GitLab, IntelliJ, Spring, Struts, Wildfly, and UX/UI design principles.
Education & Certifications : Relevant degree or equivalent experience; certifications in mobile development or related technologies.
Develop and enhance mobile features for iOS and Android using React Native.
Implement local storage solutions for offline functionality and ensure seamless online/offline synchronization.
Consume and produce JSON REST APIs, integrating with backend systems (e.g., ALS).
Work with relational databases (RDBMS) such as Oracle and PostgreSQL.
Collaborate in Agile processes: daily stand‑ups, sprint planning, code reviews, and GitLab ticket resolution.
Write clean, documented, testable, and production‑ready code that adheres to FWP’s design, development, and security standards.
Participate in UAT support and defect resolution.
Deliver features as planned within sprint cycles, ensuring code is buildable, deployable, and runnable.
Commit code changes regularly and maintain thorough documentation.
Preferred
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
Certifications (Any 2 of the following):
React Native Specialist Certification
Oracle Certified Professional (Java or Database)
Google Associate Android Developer (demonstrating expertise in mobile, API, and database integration)
