Trust and Estate Tax Manager
Job Summary:
The Trust and Estate Tax Manager will assist Partners with estate, trust, and gift planning, as well as compliance reporting for the firm’s clients. This role collaborates closely with team members to deliver timely, accurate work products and provide expert technical advice.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Oversee tax planning and compliance for high-net-worth individuals, gifs, trusts, and estates.
Advise clients on wealth transfer strategies, charitable giving, and estate planning.
Review complex tax returns and maintain regular communication with clients and colleagues.
Interact closely with clients’ other advisors, such as attorneys and financial advisors
Serve as a subject-matter expert in estate, trust, and related tax law.
Train and supervise staff, including reviewing and evaluating their work.
Set and achieve professional development goals for self and direct reports.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
CPA or JD certification.
Minimum 6 years of experience in individual, fiduciary, estate, and gift tax compliance.
Proficiency in reading and analyzing trust documents; ability to advise clients on trust usage.
Experience collaborating with estate attorneys to structure trusts and gifting strategies.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong organizational skills and proactive approach to team collaboration.
Ability to manage multiple engagements and competing priorities in a fast paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree or LLM in Taxation or a relevant field.
Experience with CCH Axcess tax software.
Additional experience with other tax software or financial planning tools.
Location: Pittsburgh, PA | Salary: $165,000 – $200,000
