
Building Automation Sales Engineer

Base salary range:

Role Overview This role is responsible for driving revenue growth through project-based sales of building automation solutions. The position focuses on developing new business, managing existing customer relationships, and creating customized automation solutions for projects within an assigned market.
Key Responsibilities: Sales & Business Development
Identify and pursue opportunities with new and existing clients
Maintain an accurate and up-to-date sales pipeline using CRM software
Follow up promptly on leads and referrals
Maintain an active backlog of quotes to consistently meet booking goalsCross-sell and up-sell controls, service, and mechanical work within the region
Qualify opportunities and address customer questions and objections responsibly
Project & Solution Development
Review specifications, drawings, equipment, and job conditions to determine project scope for new construction
Define scope and requirements for retrofit projects, including repairs, modifications, replacements, and upgrades
Translate technical knowledge and experience into proposals that improve facility performance while reducing operating and maintenance costs
Understand customer needs from both technical and financial perspectives to develop customized solutions
Accurately estimate time, costs, labor, materials, subcontractors, and resources required
Develop proposals following standard operating procedures
Present solutions professionally and competitively
Customer Relationship Management
Conduct business in alignment with company values
Maintain professional and timely communication with assigned accounts and prospects
Address customer concerns promptly to ensure resolution and long-term relationships
Build strong working relationships with customers, vendors, and internal team members
Qualifications
Working knowledge of HVAC and Building Automation systems
Associate degree in HVAC-R, Mechanical Systems, or Electrical disciplines, or equivalent experience
Experience with HVAC-R, mechanical, electrical, or plumbing systems
Experience developing and maintaining customer relationships
Knowledge of cooperative purchasing agreements and LEED requirements
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
