Overview
Planned Systems International (PSI) is an enterprise IT services company that designs, builds, secures, and operates software solutions that support mission success and operational excellence across Federal Government organizations. PSI is seeking an AMOC Senior Database Administrator III to provide full-time, on-site support to the CBP Air and Marine Operations Center.
This role is responsible for managing, maintaining, and optimizing database environments that support C4I systems, AMOSS, ISR platforms, and associated mission applications, ensuring data availability, integrity, security, and performance in alignment with operational requirements.
Essential Functions and Job Responsibilities
Administer, maintain, and optimize database systems supporting AMOSS, ISR, and C4I environments
Monitor database performance and implement tuning and optimization strategies
Ensure data integrity, availability, and security across all database platforms
Perform database installation, configuration, patching, and upgrades
Support backup, recovery, and disaster recovery planning and execution
Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues in mission-critical environments
Manage database access controls and ensure compliance with security requirements
Support integration of databases with applications, systems, and data sources
Collaborate with engineering and development teams to support system enhancements and data requirements
Develop and maintain database documentation, procedures, and standards
Support data migration, replication, and synchronization efforts
Ensure compliance with configuration management and change control processes
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; experience may substitute
Experience supporting maintenance and sustainment of C4I, AMOSS, or ISR systems in operational environments
Experience troubleshooting complex system issues across hardware, software, and network components
Experience working with mission equipment, maintenance tools, and COTS systems
Experience using diagnostic and test equipment to identify and resolve system faults
Demonstrated understanding of operational requirements and ability to apply technical procedures in mission environments
10+ years:
Administering enterprise-level database systems in operational environments
Performing database performance tuning, optimization, and troubleshooting
Managing backup, recovery, and disaster recovery processes
Supporting database security, access controls, and compliance requirements
Integrating databases with applications and system architectures
Working within DoD, DHS, or similar Federal environments
Physical Demands
Ability to work in operational environments supporting technical systems
May require standing, walking, and limited lifting of equipment
Ability to travel and deploy to operational locations as required
Additional Information
Travel is required to support mission operations, system maintenance, and engineering activities across CBP operational locations. Personnel will deploy to sites including CAMOC in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico, and other CONUS and OCONUS locations to perform installation, troubleshooting, integration, and sustainment of C4I, AMOSS, ISR, and telecommunications systems. Travel may be scheduled or occur on short notice in response to mission priorities or system outages. Duration may range from short-term temporary duty to extended support periods based on operational needs. All travel will be Government-directed and reimbursed in accordance with applicable Federal Travel Regulations and contract provisions.
