Overview

Piping Designers develop precise layouts, isometric drawings, and 3D models of piping systems used in process plants, petrochemical facilities, power stations, and water-treatment facilities. They interpret P&IDs to produce accurate design drawings, select appropriate materials, and ensure piping is properly routed with adequate support and accessibility for maintenance. Collaborating across process, mechanical, and structural disciplines, Piping Designers are essential to both the construction and long-term operation of industrial plants. This is a long-term Contract job. Per diem available. Key Responsibilities

Produce Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), 2D layouts, and 3D models using PDMS, AutoCAD Plant 3D, or similar Dimension piping runs, specify pipe classes, valves, fittings, and supports Collaborate with process engineers to confirm line sizes, operating conditions, and materials of construction Generate isometric drawings with welding, bending, and fabrication details Coordinate with structural and civil disciplines to resolve clashes and routing conflicts Prepare bill of materials (BOM) and support procurement with detailed take-offs Site walkdowns or field verifications Requirements

Diploma or Bachelor\'s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field Proficiency in PDMS, CADWorx, or AutoCAD Plant Understanding of piping codes (ASME B31.3, API) and material specifications Strong spatial-visualization skills Time management and adaptability 3–7 years\' experience on medium-to-large process-plant projects Proficient in stress-analysis input (Caesar II) and understanding of support design Able to manage multi-discipline coordination and drive deliverable schedules Excellent communication for interfacing with engineers, fabricators, and site teams Able to coordinate with process, structural and mechanical teams Ability to mentor junior designers
