Job Summary We are seeking a friendly and service‑oriented
Sales Associate
to join our team! As a Sales Associate, you will assist customers with their shopping needs and ensure an excellent shopping experience. Responsibilities may include working the register, stocking shelves, processing inventory, and maintaining the store’s appearance. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in customer‑service and knowledge of cash register operation.
Responsibilities
Greet each customer with a smile and provide assistance while they are shopping
Follow all safety and loss prevention procedures.
Work at a register to ring up and carry out customer sales.
Collect payments by cash and credit card
Issue receipts and refunds to customers
Take added responsibility for stocking, inventory, and store maintenance.
Drive sales by participating in targeted product promotions and initiatives as set forth by the company.
Develop and maintain solid product knowledge to best help customers with their selections.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent
Ability to read, count, write, and communicate clearly and effectively
Understanding of sales techniques and best practices in customer service
Willingness to work well in a team environment
Ability to quickly and accurately work a register
Willingness to work a flexible schedule
Compensation: $12.00 - $15.00 per hour
Emerson’s Cigars started with the opening of the Military Circle store in Norfolk, VA. Our roots are traced back to 1975 when Dwight “Chad” Chadbourn opened Tinderbox locations in Maryland, Washington DC, and Tidewater. We are Eastern Virginia’s premier cigar and tobacco shop, and we currently have five store locations and 1 direct mail / wholesale warehouse in the Tidewater Virginia area. The mission of Emerson’s Cigars is to provide a fun, relaxed shopping experience for the world’s finest premium cigars and tobacco products. We believe in promoting an environment built on strong customer relationships and combining it with an extensive presentation of the cigar and tobacco industry’s finest products.
