Intellectual Property Counsel / Life Sciences Innovative Metro Boston life science company seeks a 5th-8th year IP attorney to be part of a winning team with a mission to help life science experts around the world get to answers they can trust. This position, which reports to the Chief Intellectual Property Counsel, will serve as trusted counsel on all IP issues, with a particular focus on invention mining, patentability, patent prosecution and freedom to operate, locally and globally, by giving solid and practical IP legal advice.

Responsibilities

Lead outside counsel in the preparation and prosecution of patent and trademark applications.

Negotiate, draft, and review agreements such as licenses, research agreements, collaboration agreements, confidentiality agreements, and material transfer agreements.

Conduct freedom to operate assessments on emerging technology.

Provide solid and practical IP legal advice on all IP issues.

Qualifications

5th to 8th year IP attorney with strong experience in patentability, prosecution, and freedom to operate.

Minimum 1-2 years of in‑house experience strongly preferred.

Strong understanding of the life‑sciences industry.
