Director of Development
The Central Lincoln County YMCA is seeking a dynamic and results‑driven Director of Development to lead and elevate all fundraising efforts in support of our mission. This is a high‑impact leadership role for a seasoned development professional who brings a proven track record of securing major gifts, growing donor networks, and executing successful multi‑channel fundraising campaigns.
The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker and relationship builder who thrives on connecting donors, businesses, and community partners to meaningful philanthropic opportunities. They will drive the design and execution of comprehensive fundraising strategies, including annual giving, major gifts, capital campaigns, and planned giving, while supporting special events.
This role requires a confident leader who can steward donor relationships with authenticity and professionalism, and translate data and insights into actionable fundraising plans. Strong financial acumen and experience managing development budgets, tracking performance, and ensuring accountability are essential.
At its core, this position is about impact and ensuring sustainable resources to serve those who need us most. The Director of Development will play a critical role in shaping the future of the organization through innovative fundraising, strategic partnerships, and a deep commitment to the YMCA’s mission.

Position Summary This position supports the work of the YMCA, a leading nonprofit to strengthen the community.
Requirements Physical Requirements:
The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, talk, hear, bend, and lift.
Use hands and fingers to operate a standard computer keyboard or tablet; use a computer, mouse, printer, and copier; and speak and hear using a telephone.
Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus.
The employee will lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.
Work Environment:
Work is performed at a community campus that serves all people.
Work is occasionally stressful and requires ability to multi‑task, meet deadlines, and successfully cope with the pressures related to the position.
The campus facility is open early mornings, evenings, and weekends, and the job may require attendance outside of regular business hours (9am – 5pm).
The noise level is generally low to moderate.
Essential Experience and Skill Requirements
5–10 years of experience in a related field.
Excellent leadership skills.
Team player, with superb interpersonal skills. Ability to partner with co‑workers and work with the public in a positive, friendly manner and resolve conflicts as needed.
Self‑starter with the ability to multi‑task, lead others, work independently, and adapt to changing circumstances in a fast‑paced environment.
General computer skills with the ability to effectively learn and use new software.
Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record with access to a personal vehicle preferred.
Essential Education Requirements Bachelor’s degree in business management or the equivalent in education and closely related work experience.
