JOB SUMMARY Under the direction of the Early Childhood Education (ECE) Director, perform professional and supervisory work involving the organization and direction of Center Managers, Site Supervisors, and teaching staff of center-based classrooms, home-based programs, and other contracts as assigned. Provide leadership, strategic planning, and goal setting to enrollment staff that ensures ongoing outreach and recruitment that fills all child care slots. Effectively coordinate with internal and external multidisciplinary team members to assist with planning, implementing, and monitoring services to children and families enrolled in early education programs. The position will seek to improve workflow efficiencies, ensure contract achievement and program compliance. While this position operates as a critical member of the ECE Leadership team, this position is expected to work relatively independently and is expected to demonstrate exemplary judgment, decision-making, and understanding of contract/funding rules/regulations/reporting. As a member of the CAPC’s Cabinet level Management Team, the Assistant Director will demonstrate leadership, accountability, integrity, credibility and an uncompromising commitment to the vision and mission of the agency. Cabinet level Managers assume responsibility for their programs and special projects/initiatives for the agency at-large

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS Education Graduation from an accredited four year college or university with major course in Child Development, Early Childhood Education, Social Services, or a closely related field with a minimum of 24 semester units in early childhood. Program Director permit required. Employees working in Early Head Start must have a minimum of six units in Infant/Toddler care and development. Master’s degree in related field preferred.

Experience Five years of Early Education experience including no less than at least three years in a supervisory role.
